Pregnancy - Week 15

Only 25 more weeks to go!

This week was pretty uneventful as far as baby and I go. I continue to have an ever-increasing amount of round ligament pain...and frankly, what's a girl to do? I've tried heat, ice, and today, I got desperate and tried ben-gay. I wouldn't recommend it. It's a little disheartening to know it has started so soon and it will continue for so long! Maybe when school's out, I can get off my feet more and it will get better...One can hope!?!

Here are the pictures from week 15. Annaleigh took it, so cut me (and her) some slack if it's not that good!

An Email From the School Nurse AND the Teacher is Never Good

Within an hour today, I received an email from both my daughter's school nurse and her teacher. The nurse said she bumped her head with another student during PE. She said that b/c of the location around her eye, it was prone to swelling.

The teacher told it very acurately and plainly. She said it's purple and it looks awful. She wasn't exaggerating. The moral to this story, it might not be a good idea to blindfold 11 year-olds and let their friends lead them around the gym! You gotta laugh at this....

Pregnancy - Week 14

Here we are again...pregnancy week 14!

I went to the doctor on Monday and got a good report. I was able to stop taking the progesterone supplements finally! I think these were causing my head to hurt a lot, so this was a blessing. I am also just thankful for modern medicine, b/c without it, I might not have made it to this point with Alden or this sweet baby!

I also was cleared to go on a beach vacation, which was "iffy" there for a while b/c of how far along I'd be at the time. The doc doesn't want me traveling after 32 weeks, so I just skirted under that deadline! I also found out I had a sinus infection, and that sure wasn't helping my headaches! The medicine for that is already taking effect, thank goodness.

I also was told I could try going 3 weeks between visits this time rather than 2 weeks. I really thought that after the progesterone stopped they would have me come once a month like normal people. However, b/c of the diabetes, I still have to come more often than others...But 3 weeks is better than two!

Here's the belly at 14 weeks!

Birthday Bash - Alden's 4th Birthday

And finally, I am caught up to today...Alden's 4th Birthday!

For the first part of Alden's week in the fun zone, he wanted to go to Outback and have them sing "Happy Birthday" to him. This was prompted by an incident a few weeks ago at Outback in another town. There were 2 people there that had the birthday song sang special for them, and he couldn't figure out why they weren't singing to him! We remedied that problem!!

Also, before the restaurant, Nana, Pappy, and Annaleigh took him to Build-A-Bear to make this Batman Bear!

Blowing out the candle at Outback...

Opening a present from Mom and Dad...
(You have to open a present on your actual b'day!!)

He got two new "Ben Ten" toys...

Here's the party from this weekend. Alden really liked the cake.
Notice it is much better than last year's!!

We were thrilled with the cake!

Waiting to break into it!

A little shy this year with all the attention...

Opening presents...

He loved the Discovery Viewfinder that Mommy and Daddy got him. This one tells you facts about the animals you see pics of!

Excitement!

Getting help from Baby Claire who just turned two!

She's as excited as he is!

Opening his present from Great-Granny who is 87!

Taking time to pose with Great-Granny and "Humongosaur"...

At this point, Alden has really had it with sweet Baby Claire helping him open his presents!! We thought this was hilarious! She also kept trying to sit in his lap...now granted, he is 2 years older, but he only outweighs her by 3 pounds, so this was just too much according to him!

I finally find something that Baby Claire and I can do together! This way, she isn't helping Alden quite so much, and I'm loving it!!

Birthday Bash - Alden's 3rd Birthday

The 3rd Birthday for this big boy was a Diego pary:

Alden and his daddy look like they are up to no good...

Not really sure what this look was about, but it looks like someone burst both their bubbles!

The decorations are all Diego toys of Alden's, so we put them to good use...

Granddaddy and Uncle Bobby hanging out in the background shooting the breeze...

The rest of the dining room decorations...

The cake...
Don't laugh...
We found a new bakery for Birthday #4!

Someone just got a taste!

I love that look!
There's Great-Granny in the background...She's 86 here!

The birthday boy feeding his face...

Who needs this many presents???
Alden is one LOVED little fellow!

Opening presents...

More Diego toys...
This one is "backpack backpack!"

Getting some help from Baby Claire, who just turned 1...

Birthday Bash - Alden's 2nd Birthday

Here are the pictures from Alden's 2nd Birthday:

Sissy helps him at the table while everyone sings "Happy Birthday!"

Blowing out the candle on the Thomas the Train cake...
We brought part of his train table down to use as the decorations.

This big boy doesn't need any help eating his birthday cake!

Enjoying cake as Great-Granny looks on...
She was 85 at the time and is still doing wonderful!

This year he doesn't need much help opening presents!

He really likes whatever this one is!

Tools just like Daddy...

Tigger was a big hit!

The inch worm was also a hit, but he was actually too light to make it go up and down, so we just pushed him around on it...

He also loved this Mickey Mouse ride-on...

Sis apparently doesn't need any help!

At the end of the party, all four generations of the women in my family gathered for a picture together. Here, Granny is 85, Nana is 59, Mommy is 30, and Annaleigh is 9.

Birthday Bash - Alden's 1st Birthday

My baby turns four years old this week. Since I've just started posting, I thought I'd remind myself of birthdays past...This is Alden's very first birthday, February 15th, 2007.

As we waited for the guests to arrive, I caught sissy keeping him busy with a good book!

The party was a sports theme, so I made these cakes for his 1st birthday...
After that, they are all made by someone better than me!

The rest of the table...

Checking out the loot...He's at the very end of the table peering over.
I think someone has to be holding him up here, but I don't for the life of me remember who!

He loved it when everyone sang "Happy Birthday" and the attention was all on him!

The birthday boy...

Let them have cake!

Opening presents...

More presents...

Even Mommy played with the new toys!

The loot!

And it just keeps on going!
