Spring Break - Day 1

This past week was Spring Break in our part of Alabama. Jason had a business trip in Atlanta, so the kids and I tagged along for the ride. We did basically all of the typical tourist stuff and really had a good time. We were VERY lucky in that we got an absolutely fabulous room, and by that I mean the PRESIDENTIAL SUITE!! No, I'm not kidding! It had 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a living room and dining room, as well as a small office/bar area. I was really worried about the kids and I getting tired of being in the room (though we were pretty much gone all day, every day), but frankly, they could actually get lost in there! I am so mad now though, b/c I forgot to take any pics of the room.

On Monday, we drove to Atlanta and went to the Zoo. Since this was considered to be Jason's travel day, he was able to go with us! Annaleigh had been before, but she was so little, she doesn't remember it.  The weather was beautiful, but it was a little windy toward the end of the day.

First Stop - Flamingos

As you can see, we're still in our coats, b/c in the shade, it was pretty chilly!

Sweet Sister and Brother

Looking through one of those things you stick your head through. In this case, it was naked mole rats!

Riding the carousel...Seems like you can only get one kid at a time to look at the camera!

All Aboard! Riding the Train!

The train was about to leave, so this was a hurried shot by Dad

After the zoo, we checked into our fabulous hotel room and headed out to the famous Varsity restaurant. This is an iconic place in Atlanta that you have to visit at least once. This kids liked it so much, we actually went back again!

The Varsity sign, visible from the Interstate!

Alden modeling his Varsity hat. I have no idea why he has his finger in his ear!

Annaleigh modeled too, although she wasn't very pleased about it!

Well, that's it for Day 1....Day 2 is coming up!
